Severe Weather Awareness Week April 9-13
tornado
Severe weather comes in many forms in Minnesota. Thunderstorms, hail, straight-line winds, tornadoes, and flooding can begin in the spring and take place well into the fall. Knowing what to expect and how to respond to warnings can become life-or-death issues.

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HSEM) sponsors Severe Weather Awareness Week to help citizens prepare for the dangers of Minnesota weather extremes. The HSEM web site links to safety information and learning activities for families, schools and work places. (Click on link below)

It's a good time to review your building safety/emergency plans regarding severe weather and update as needed.

All of our Saint Paul Public Schools and work sites will participate in Minnesota's annual statewide tornado drill at 1:45 p.m. on Thursday April 12.
