Missing Child/Student Release If a Student is Lost or Missing:

Teachers should immediately search the entire room for the student (i.e. closets, under desks, tables, etc.).

Ask other students if they know where the student may be.

Teachers should report that student is missing to office.

Furnish a physical description and clothing information (age, height, weight, hair color, eye color, color of shirt/pants/coat, medical status if appropriate, etc.).

Teachers should advise administrator of any known problems regarding the student.
Release of Children from School Grounds:
Saint Paul Public Schools Policy states:

Students may only be released through the office (this includes parents).

Students picked up by anyone other than their custodial parent(s)/guardian must make arrangements ahead of time.

Staff will not release a student to anyone other than a parent or guardian unless it is clear that the guardian or parent has approved this or would approve if able.

The school staff reserves the right to ask for proper identification before releasing any student.
Stranger Alert:

If students, staff, or parents report a stranger loitering on or around school property, or following students between home and school, it should be immediately reported to the office.
Abduction:

Student abduction or attempted abduction should be reported to the office immediately.

Note the person’s appearance and any other information about him or her (voice, clothing, vehicle type and color, license plate number, etc.) that might be helpful to police.

Treat custody dispute problems as a possible student abduction. |
