Office of Security and Emergency Management
How do I get an ID?

ID may be obtained at Central Security (360 Colborne) seven days a week, 24 hours a day. (Central Security is responsible for monitoring all alarms throughout the district, if getting an ID between the hours of 4:00 P.M. and 8:00 A.M. it is best to call ahead, 293-5200, to avoid a long wait time).

What will I need in order to get an ID?

Central Security personnel will need to verify who you are and that you are currently a District employee or that you qualify for one of our other District badges (vendor, contractor, volunteer, etc.). You will need some type of picture ID (driver’s license, old school ID) and something to verify employment (letter from building administrator on letterhead, current pay stub, or on our current employee list). New employees can present their letter of intent from Human Resources. Vendors, contractors, volunteers, etc. must contact the Office of Safety and Security (651-767-8370) before getting a District ID.

When will I get my new ID?

If you have proper ID and we can verify employment, you will get your ID before leaving 360 Colborne. If you do not have proper ID or for some reason we cannot verify employment, we will still make the ID, but if will be forwarded to your building administrator to pass on to you.

Is there a charge?

If you turn in your old ID or are a new employee there isn’t any charge. If you have lost your ID there is a $3 charge for a regular ID and a $5 charge for an access ID.

What is an access ID and how do I get one?

Some of our buildings use electronic access cards for entry during predetermined hours. If your building is equipped you may obtain an access card through your building administrator. If you do get an access ID it will be forwarded to your building administrator to pass on to you.

What happens if I lose an access ID?

Please notify Central Security (651-293-5200) or the Office of Safety and Security (651-767-8370) as soon as possible. We will remove the card from the system and issue a new one. Until we remove it from the system the card may be used and will register on the system as your card.

Can we have photos taken at our building?

Yes we do have some photo sessions at different buildings, usually at the beginning of the school year. A schedule of photo sessions (sites and times) is sent out via e-mail, usually in late August. We will schedule individual buildings if there is sufficient need at a site. You may inquire about scheduling a photo shoot at your site by calling 651-767-8370.
