How Healthy and Safe is Your School?

 

The Center for Disease Control has developed a comprehensive online assessment tool for determining how healthy your school is. The School Health Index (SHI) Self-Assessment and Planning Guide is a comprehensive tool for assessing the strengths and weaknesses of health and safety programs and policies. Modules include School Health and Safety Policies and Environment; Health Education; Physical Education and Other Physical Activity Programs; Nutrition Services and more. A team approach pulls together a variety of staff from diverse areas in the school to determine how healthy the overall environment is.
